At Newlands Training, we’re proud to continue expanding our course offering to meet the needs of a fast-moving industry. Hot on the heels of last week’s Rodent Management course announcement, we’re excited to unveil another addition to our professional training lineup – Remote Control Mowers.
This new course is designed for professionals working in horticulture, grounds maintenance, and landscaping – especially those looking to add a modern skillset that reflects today’s technology and equipment.
Why This Course Matters
Remote-controlled mowers are becoming increasingly popular across large estates, commercial grounds, and public spaces. Their ability to manage difficult or steep terrain while keeping operators at a safe distance makes them an essential tool in the modern land-based industry. But with new machinery comes new responsibility.
Our Remote Control Mowers course ensures that operators understand not only how to use the equipment effectively but also how to do so safely, competently, and with minimal risk.
What the Course Covers
Over the course of one practical, hands-on day, candidates will learn:
-
How to operate remote-control mower systems confidently
-
Key safety and risk assessments for different terrains and environments
-
Understanding of hydrostatic drive systems and tracked movement
-
Pre-start checks, operating controls, and post-use maintenance
-
Handling battery-powered models and safe battery storage and disposal (coming soon)
The training is suitable for those new to this machinery as well as those wanting to formalise their skills. On successful completion, candidates receive a Lantra Certificate of Competence.
Who Is This Course For?
If you or your team manage grass cutting across large, awkward, or potentially hazardous spaces – this course is for you.
