Newlands Training Ltd abides by the principles set out in the GDPR Regulations (GDPR) 25 May 2018.
The General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. The GDPR aims primarily to give control back to citizens and residents over their personal data. When the GDPR takes effect (25 May 2018) it will replace the 1995 Data Protection Directive
Newlands Training ensures that personal information is collected and used fairly, stored safely, used only for its intended purpose and not disclosed to any other person unlawfully.

Candidate Name, Home Address, Postcode. Date of Birth. Health Issues. Learning Issues. Training and assessment records. List of training and qualifications achieved. Copy Certificates.
WHY NEWLANDS TRAINING IS HOLDING DATA
The personal data and training records listed above are required for registration purposes with the awarding bodies we use, to enable assessments and certification. To honour our contracts with the awarding bodies we are required to hold data for a period of time to facilitate audits on ourselves.
WHAT THE DATA IS USED FOR
Primarily our data collection is for processing with the Awarding Bodies for candidate certification. This is a requirement of our contract with them.
Newlands Training uses personal data to keep candidate records up to date and support our clients with copies of training evidence or certification.
We do not use data in our records for marketing purposes.
HOW DO WE GATHER DATA
Newlands Training will ask for the required data to be supplied via a Google Form which we supply a link for in our course joining instructions.
We ask that all Attendees on our courses fill in and signs a Candidate Enrolment Form. This form collects name, address, health issues or learning difficulties.
HOW DO WE STORE DATA
All training records and personal data are stored in a digital format and as hard copies under lock and key.
HOW LONG DO WE STORE DATA
Newlands Training data is stored for 7 years.
WHO IS DATA SHARED WITH
Data is shared with Lantra, NPORS, City & Guilds NPTC – the Awarding Bodies we contract with.
HOW IS DATA DESTROYED
After 7 years paper copies are burnt.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS (Individuals)
The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals:
- The right to be informed
- The right to access
- The right to rectification
- The right to erase
- The right to restrict processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to object
- Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
NEXT OF KIN PROCEDURES
From May 2018 the listed next of kin for each training course will be securely destroyed at the end of the course and not stored with the other personal data.
