Telescopic Handlers
Course Objectives
- Identify the basic construction and components, and the purpose and use of all controls and gauges
- Identify and comply with manufacturer’s instructions in accordance with the operator’s handbook and other information sources i.e. load charts, and applicable regulations
- Explain all relevant documentation
- Carry out all pre-use and running checks
- Configure the tele-handler for site and road travel
- Travel over differing types of terrain, including rough undulating ground not applicable for Industrial Telescopic) and substantial inclines,both with and without a load
- Manoeuvre in confined areas using forward and reverse direction, both with and without a load
- Set the telescopic handler in order to lift various loads
- Lift and place various loads within the full working range of the telescopic handler
- Ensure load integrity and security
- Transport loads
- Place and retrieve loads accurately at various places
- Place and retrieve loads from a vehicle bed or trailer
- Keep within safe working parameters
- Place the machine in an out-of-service condition
- Explain the loading and unloading procedure on and off a transporter

Novice operators – 5 days
Semi-Experienced Operators – 3 days

Equipment for land-based course and test – if hosting your own course.
- Operator instruction book for all machinery and attachments
- Lift truck complying with safety regulations in a well-maintained state
- Overalls and wet weather clothing
- High visibility jacket
- PPE (eye, head, foot and hand protection)
- Notebook and pencil
Venue
Dry clean building with room for all machinery to be worked on, light and heating if necessary, seating and tables for trainees, suitable area of land to operate the machine with ability to stack loads at various heights.

2 Day Course for Experienced Trainees – £320+VAT
3 Day Course for semi-experienced Trainees – £420+VAT
Cancellation Policy
Newlands Training Ltd have the following cancellation policy:
- 7 working days notice, full fee refund, less administration charge of £25.00
- 3-7 working days notice, 50% fee refund
- 1-3 working days notice, 25% fee refund
- Less than 1 days notice, no refund
